BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Jason Zbornik (President)
has over 15 years experience in the arts & youth development. After working in the graphic communications industry, he launched Visual Impact Design Studios in 1998. In 2002, Jason founded Nexus Entertainment Arts. When he get¹s a break from his directorial duties Jason enjoys a great movie, collecting vintage and modern toys and drinking a fine glass of limeade.
Corey Munson (Vice President)
has worked closely with Jason for more than a decade. He hit the big time after graduating with a degree in Journalism from Mount Mercy College. Corey brings a touch of class and amazing sweaters to almost every situation.
Jennie Russell (Treasurer)
brings keen insight on the human condition and a good eye for photography. She has been involved with Nexus since 2003 assisting with event planning and marketing. When not going to shows or collecting antique and modern furniture, she still finds time to be a team leader at Nordstrom Direct.
Amber Gordon (Secretary)
has spearheaded Nexus¹ northern expansion in the Cedar Falls/ Waterloo area. Amber enjoys brut and folk art. She is a student at UNI and a merchandiser for Pepsi Cola, Co. As an active traveler, she lived in St. Louis between stints in Iowa, but says no matter where you go, nothing beats a good cappuccino.
 
 
2009 LEAD STAFF

Justin Hinz (promotions) touched an electrical fence as a child and is continuing his education at Kirkwood College majoring in haveing no sleep ever. He has a double major in getting things done and calling Jason to remind him to call so and so. Justin is in charge of Staff Management. It's his fault now if someone doesnt show up. Justin is sure there is a job for people who sit around and think of ideas. He just hasn't quite figured out how to make that idea pay. He's also been known to make those fancy sculptures you see out of Wal-Mart merchandies when no one is watching. Active since 02/07
CRIMES AGAINST STATUS QUO:
Seeing the big picture.
Mindy Jenkins (staffing & finances) is a student at the University of Iowa majoring in child development psychology. While she likes Pandas and Fairies she knows the difference between fiction and reality and understands why Twilight is not the best movie ever. That's not stoping her from going again though. Active since 02/07

The ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and not go insane.

2009 VOLUNTER STAFF

David Rosale now has a cell phone so we can call him whenever we want! And boy do we want to. He just likes to argue though... with pretty much anyone. He also likes playing music and dreams of having a gnarly scar someday.. or possibly becoming a professional eater and out-eat that guy who eats all the hot dogs.. He's also quite keen on cooking and is working to get into Kirkwood for Culinary Arts. Active since 2008
CRIMES AGAINST STATUS QUO:
Having taller hair than you.
Tim Marsh says hes generally annoying and unproductive. But we dissagree since he has been known to come up with a few great ideas and is helpful installing things in hard to reach areas. When not dominoing boxes at Hy-Vee or being attacked by fish he enjoys a round of the real guitar hero, American Dad and some pizza. Active since 2008
CRIMES AGAINST STATUS QUO:
Master of lights... and things up high.
Matt Thompson has been involved with Nexus in one way or another since back in the World Theater days before becoming an active volunteer. Matt is currently employed with General Mills and enjoys the new Knight Rider, 2 and a Half Men, and pro wrestling. He's an active writer planning to record a spoken word cd with local artists. When not cooking with his panini grill. In addition to seeing some great shows and making new friends and contacts Nexus has givent him an opportunity to perform and give back to the arts through being a part of shows and helping other artists. since 2008
CRIMES AGAINST STATUS QUO:
His vast knowledge of Godzilla and Gamera films.
Jamie Thompson works at Planet X and has some plans when she grows up. It's doubtful that will happen though. When not designing flyers and stuff for Nexus and Jackbox she is adding yet anothe layer of color to her hair. Active since 2006
CRIMES AGAINST STATUS QUO:
Having more hair colors at one time than anyone.
Gabby Watkins is a self proclaimed spelling Nazi of flyers made by Jason when shes not chasing down cloths for soccer moms and JC Pennys. If things don't pan out for her to become an international spy she plans to attend NYU and pursue a carrer in the music field. Nexus has provided her with a great learning experience while getting to met people who have similar interests. She has a strong love for books and a sickening hobby for reading many for AP Language and Composition and has read every books she owns multiple times... which is a lot! She also insists 3OH!3 has good beats. Active since 12/08

Sean Pierre likes tacos and cookies. He use to tag buildings but now he tags notebooks. He's king of socialites around here and you'll most often find him talking with guest.. probalby you if he's working an event you're at. Active 2006, 2008~

Chloe Howe has worked tirelessly with real estate agents and business owners in the community to promote Nexus and open a new venue. She is also a master of the coloring book and makes excellent cupcakes. Active since 2007

Bill Mason has an extensive background in arts presentation. His focus is strategic planning and co-directing The Bricolàge Theatre project. Bill enjoys banging on drums, working with wood, wrangling hot glass, or finessing a bonsai tree. Active since 2006

Having more knowledge about culture than all our staff combined.
Rowson Agnew brings excitement and vision to Nexus. Ross is currently working at Hy-Vee stores while attending Kirkwood Community Collage. A video game aficionado and fine dancer, he brings his own style to every situation. Active since 2007

Extreme dance moves.
Derek Hamilton is a student at Kirkwood community college and is, perhaps, the only athlete working for Nexus at this time. Since joining Nexus over the summer of 2007, he has continued to pursue the loves of his life: competitive swimming, stand up comedy and rock and roll. Active since 2008

We are always looking for passionate creative people that believe in supporting unheard music, unseen art and our mission. We're looking for ambitious and creative people that want to succeed. It is more than a job. It is a calling.

After submission of the following form our staff will contact you personally. Please understand you are not applying for a paid position. Non of us are paid. We are all volunteers. At best we get to have a lot of fun, meet cool people, and occasionally get free merch and sweat a lot.
